Arapoff Portrait of Ray Sprague

A 1934 Cyril Arapoff portrait of Ray Sprague, made when Arapoff would have been living in Headington. The caption on the reverse reads: “Raymond A. Sprague—Taken Oxford, England 1934 while living with a Russian family by a Russian émigré professional photographer.” Many of Arapoff’s portraits (which include those of Sir John Gielgood, Vivien Leigh, and others) are in the collections the National Portrait Gallery in England.
